What is a complimentary screening?
If you’ve got aches and pains as the result of an injury or seemingly without cause, you may make an appointment at any one of our locations for a complimentary screening. An expert physical therapist will spend a few short minutes evaluating you and listening to your concerns, in the process determining whether or not physical therapy is right for you. If so, we’ll also put together a course of action to help get you started.
Do I need a referral from my physician to schedule an appointment?
No. Washington and Oregon’s laws do not require that patients obtain a prescription from their healthcare provider before being treated a physical therapist.
Who will be in charge of my treatment?
An expert therapist at your local clinic will complete a comprehensive evaluation which will then be used to formulate a treatment plan. Based on the recommendations in your treatment plan, you will be paired with the physical therapist whose skill set best allows them to help you reach your goals. To ensure that you receive the consistent, quality care you deserve, you will be seen by the same therapist throughout the course of your treatment.
Additionally, we will remain in contact with the physician of your choice so they are constantly in the loop as you progress.
How does billing work?
ProActive Physical Therapy Specialists is in-network with the majority of insurance carriers. If you have insurance, the first thing we’ll do is verify your benefits so that we know how much your co-pay for therapy costs. We collect this co-pay at your visit and apply it to your account. We also submit a claim to your insurance company so they know you have come to see us. It typically takes your insurance company about 45 days to process this claim.
Our billing concierges then review the processed claim and let you know if you have a refund coming your way or if there is a remaining balance. If you have questions at any time throughout the billing process, we are happy to help! Please call our billing office at (503) 489-5007.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept Blue Cross/Regence, Medicare, Aetna, HealthNet MODA, PacificSource, TriCare, Cigna, CHAMPVA/VA/TriWest, Motor Vehicle Claims, United Healthcare, Worker’s Compensation Claims. What To Know Before Your First Appointment
How early should I arrive?
To make the process easier, you can download the required new patient paperwork, complete it at home, and bring it with you to your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first visit to complete the forms.
What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything?
Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement.
We also ask that you bring your insurance card, the prescription from your healthcare provider (if you have one), and any other reports. If you have braces, splints, or crutches, please bring them, as well.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
During your first appointment, an expert therapist will complete a comprehensive evaluation, evaluating your current condition and allowing us to determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Once a course of treatment has been established, we’ll talk about incorporating home exercise programs to supplement your visits. The appointment should take about an hour.
