Pat: Knee Pain
Pat, aged 65, was suffering from right knee pain that had been present for several years and recently worsened. He sprained his knee years ago but had no recent trauma that might have caused it to worsen. Before physical therapy, Pat had constant knee pain and associated thigh discomfort. His initial knee pain rating was a 5 out of 10 and he was unable to fully flex the knee.
How We Helped: After examination by his his ProActive therapist, Pat was prescribed manual physical therapy and therapeutic exercise for a total of 8 visits over the course of 4 weeks.
Where They Are Now: Pat is back to his two favorite things – hiking and fishing! His knee and thigh pain occurs only occasionally and is minimal (1 out of 10). He now has full range of motion and walks over 30 minutes a day without pain or limping.
